The follow-on sole source production of BQM-167A is required to provide adequate threat representative targets to meet current and projected HQ AF/TE-sponsored kill authorizations as outlined in AFMAN 99-108. The USAF missions require ever evolving weapons systems that not only require more precision, but lethality as well. In order for the warfighter to deploy these weapons, DoD weapon systems must undergo survivability and lethality testing before entering full rate production. The BQM-167A satisfies Title 10 lethality testing/threat realism testing as required for all major aircraft and missile systems.
