The signals to be provided with the blocking facility are of 2 different types: Microlok controlled intermediate signals: present at Mandurah line; and Relay controlled absolute signals (relay interlocking): present at Butler, Midland, Armadale and Fremantle lines. At four (4) Relay controlled absolute signals locations there is a requirement to have pipe and pit between two adjoining signals to provide the blocking.
