The new unit is for ExxonMobil-s 605,000 barrel per day (bdp) refinery on Jurong Island and is expected to produce more than 56,608 bpd of ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel by 2014. When the hydrotreater comes on line, the refinery-s total ULSD production capacity will increase to more than 157,245 bpd, ExxonMobil has said. ExxonMobil announced its plans to build the hydrotreater a month ago as part of the company-s investment in meeting increasing demand for diesel fuel in the Asia Pacific region.
