It operates the wastewater treatment plants Werlte (15,000 EW) and Lorup (7,000 EW). Due to the ever-growing development of the municipalities, the wastewater treatment plants have reached their capacity limits and must be expanded. Against this background, a development concept for wastewater treatment in the velvet community Werlte was set up in 2014. Result of the investigation is the decommissioning of the sewage treatment plant Lorup, transition of the wastewater to the sewage treatment plant Werlte and conversion of the sewage treatment plant Werlte to Fauklung. The connection variable for the viewing horizon 2030 is approx. 36,000 inhabitants. Since the implementation is associated with various measures and the sewage treatment plants must be rebuilt during operation, the implementation is carried out in different phases.
