Agency : DEPT OF DEFENSE Sub-tier : DEPT OF THE NAVY Major Command : NAVFAC Sub Command : NAVFAC ATLANTIC CMD Sub Command 2 : NAVFAC SOUTHEAST Office : NAVFAC SOUTHEAST Description Replace the two effluent filter systems at the Upper Base Waste Water Treatment Plant. The effluent system consist of the north pit containing one Aqua-Aerobic Effluent Sand Filter and the south pit containing two Five Star Disc filters. The effluent filtration system consists of two concrete pits; referred to as the north and south filtration basins. One Aqua-Aerobic Sand Filter located in the northern concrete pit, and two Five Star Disc Filters located in the southern. The two filter systems are designed to work in parallel. The Aqua-Aerobic Sand Filter (north filter) is at the end of its useful life and shall be replaced in kind. The (2) two - Five Star Disc filters (south filter) does not meet peak operational flow and shall be replaced with one Aqua-Aerobic Sand Filter to match the new northern pit. Contractor may only work on one filter system at a time; one filter must stay in operation at all times. Contractor must phase the work to replace the south filter first.
