The COS migration strategy is by this modification replaced with a No-Change Over System (No-COS) migration strategy for the roll-out lines RO 2, 3, 4, 5, 7N and 9. The COS migration strategy requires intermediate equipment and an interface to the existing legacy systems to sustain and continue the ongoing train operation during migration. After commissioning of the new signaling system, this temporary equipment is required to be removed which entails further track closures. The No-COS migration strategy does not require intermediate equipment and interfaces to the existing legacy systems, as the migration is conducted directly to the new signaling system and there are thus also no additional tasks after migration. The No-COS migration strategy also implies that a larger portion of the testing is done in a test environment instead of in traffic.
