Products that are sold as systems or are heterogeneous, with multiple layers are also included. In these cases Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) may ask that the products are tested as a system, where possible. The test methods applied should follow those set out in BS EN 13501-1:2018 as applicable to the samples and should be done following the relevant standards for each test, including any normative/informative reference standards. All products will be delivered in their default size and shape (generally 2400mm x 1200mm) and will need to be cut to size during testing. Products tested will fall within the A1 - F rating scale but there will be an emphasis on B-D rated products under BS EN 13501-1. Testing shall take place on an ad-hoc basis as samples become available to OPSS, or as the testing requirement arises. The results of these tests will be used to inform future decision making on testing projects.
