Under the follow-up provisions of the Environmental Management Act, the county administrative, organizational and financial responsibility for the care of landfills where on or after 1.9.1996 even waste was dumped. From the moment the province of Groningen has been closed landfill, the county is responsible for the implementation of measures which ensure that the landfill does not cause adverse environmental effects. The purpose to implement the measures described in an aftercare plan (per site). A part of the resulting work is put on the market. These aftercare for three landfills: Kloosterlaan to Farmsum, Groningen and Woldjerspoor Borgerswold Veendam. Closes later may still dump Usquert to which the contractors selected for execution of one or more lots, in time to submit tenders. Roles: owner / manager. The province of Groningen, according to the law (see above) by the site operator, but is not the owner of the landfill! The province has set out in the Provincial Environment Regulation that future activities should not impede the aftercare. Supervision. The province has the aftercare organization, a supervisor in the service, which monitors to carry out follow-up activities. This supervisor will also be the evaluation interviews. In case of Wabo a license has been issued for parts of the landfill, there will also be a Wabo Supervisor. This is not the same as a supervisor from the aftercare organization.
