The rTMS device to be purchased must also be able to functionas a spare device for neurosurgical mapping in the clinical neurophysiology unit. Nexstim's device is the only one on the market with a CE mark for neurosurgical preoperative cortical mapping. Nexstim's device has a patented navigation system that shows the stimulation targetboth the strength and direction of the electric field. No other manufacturer's device meets these two absolute requirements. Direct procurement is based on section 40 subsection 2 of the Procurement Act. Due to a technical or exclusive right protection reason in paragraph 2, only a certain supplier can carry out the purchase;an additional condition is that there are no reasonable alternative or substitute solutions and the absence of competition is due to an artificial narrowing of the procurement conditions.
