It is used to treat patients with disease neuronal ceirid lipophuscinosis type 2 (CLN2), also known as Tripeptidylpeptidase 1 (TPP1) deficiency. CLN2 people do not have an enzyme called TPP1 or have too little causing accumulation of substances called lysosomal storage agents. In humans with CLN2 disease, these substances accumulate in some parts of the body, especially in the brain. This drug replaces the missing enzyme called TPPA and thus minimizes the accumulation of lysosomal storage agents. This medicine acts by slowing the disease procedure. The recommended dose is 300 mg of the alpha cerlonase, which is administered once every two weeks by intracerebroventricular infusion.
