The contract was signed in October 2019 for 5 years. The background for the extension is the delayed start of cleaning in the National Museum's new building. At the time of the competition and the establishment of a contract in autumn 2019, the estimated opening of the new National Museum was scheduled for autumn 2020. Due to delays in the construction project and pandemic, the opening was first held in June 2022. Considerable resources have been put from the tenderer and the contracting authority in the establishment of cleaning in new buildings and an extension of length will be seen as necessary to achieve a reasonable relationship between this resource effort and the extent of the contract. The circumstances that caused the delay were not possible to predict, the procurement's overall character is not changed, and the price increase does not exceed 50 percent of the original contract value. The amendment can therefore be implemented pursuant to the procurement regulations §28-1 first section, letter d. Any objections to this must be filed by 31.1.2024.
