(Urban planning and landscape architectural services) The preserved sector of Périgueux was delimited on the territory of the municipality by ministerial decree of 29 January 1970 and was approved on 12 March 1980 and amended on 20 December 1988 pursuant to Article L 313-1 of the Urban Planning Code . It covers 22.52 hectares. It comprises 807 parcels and includes 33 buildings protected by the legislation on historic monuments; The municipality comprises 46 in total. Apart from the historical monuments located within the perimeter of the protected area, the territory of the Greater Périgueux agglomeration community comprises 86 historical monuments. The revision / extension of the safeguarded sector of Périgueux was initiated by municipal decision dated 3 July 2015 and prescribed by order of the Prefect of the Dordogne on 24 November 2016.
