Identifying bacteria is a core task for the Bacteriological and Parasitological and Diagnostics department (BPD). BPD currently uses a Maldi-TOF (the Maldi Microflex II of Bruker), with accompanying databases, for bacterial identification. The skinge maldi-test is outdated, written off and in need of replacement.
