The project will outline in detail a methodology that results in a detailed analysis of existing infrastructure at and for the priority port of Abbot Point and identifies in detail, future infrastructure needs and opportunities; and the land and actions necessary to enable development of such infrastructure. The methodology will include a detailed set of maps to support the analysis and conclusions. Preparation of this analysis will require stakeholder consultation and engagement. The project will incorporate data from existing studies, such as the Economic Analysis recently undertaken for master planning and infrastructure analysis work now being undertaken by North Queensland Bulk Ports and the Office of the Coordinator-General. Identifying any necessary changes to the master planned area boundary will be a major consideration of the project and will focus on the required areas necessary to optimise supply chains for the port and future activities within the master planned area.
