Detail:
The proposed operation is a NEPAD-IPPF grant not exceeding USD 1 580 000 awarded to the Republic of Angola to finance the implementation of preparatory activities for the construction of the Shikolondo-Nzagi-Dundo road and border infrastructure on Angolan territory. The proposed road, which is a variant of the Trans-African Highway (TAH) 3: Tripoli - Cape Town, and its cross-border infrastructure, are vital economic and strategic links connecting the Republic of Angola to DRC and other Central and Southern African States. These roads are part of the infrastructure considered necessary to improve economic cooperation between the two countries and enhance the competitiveness of their economies. Following the award and signing of the study service contract, studies and ancillary activities are expected to be implemented over a 16-month period.
