Title:
Cameroon - Support Programme for Recovery of the Power Sector (PARSEC), Phase I
Detail:
The Support programme for the recovery of the electricity sector in Cameroon (PARSEC)-Phase I is a Cameroonian government program aimed at increasing the country's electricity supply and improving electricity sector governance, with a view to creating the conditions for strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth. PARSEC is based on targeted measures aimed at improving the performance of the electricity sector, which is marked by low transmission and distribution yields, insufficient and poorly qualified human resources, and a highly uncertain system for collecting royalties. The program will be implemented through two main components: (i) increasing electricity sector revenues, and (ii) improving sector governance. The project contributes to climate finance, with 20 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to mitigation.
