Central African Republic - Regional Support Program for the Development of Cross-Border Water Infrastructure and Resources (PREDIRE)

PREDIRE focuses on the development of the Ubangi River water resources for the socio-economic growth of its riparian countries (DRC, CAF) in a context of climate change and increased fragility, following a programmatic approach. Sub-programme 1 focuses on improving the information system on the Ubangi, preparing investments and building climate-resilient WATSAN infrastructure. Sub-programme 2 will finance infrastructure for: (i) water transfer for the DRC's agricultural transformation programme (PTA); (ii) improved navigation throughout the Oubangui basin (CAR, DRC, Congo); (iii) protection and resilience of the population to the effects of climate change. This project primely contributes towards climate adaptation result. As such 100% of the total approval is attributed as climate finance, out of which 100% is adaptation finance.
