Title:
Central African Republic - Emergency Project to Support The Stabilisation And Recovery of Refugees And Host Communities In The Lake Chad Basin (PASRRC)
Detail:
The project is a rapid response to the need for health, education and access to water by restoring and stabilising basic services to cope with the influx of people into areas with few or no basic social services. It will then go on to build resilience and socioeconomic recovery capacity to stabilise displaced populations in a dignified manner and help them regain their means of subsistence over the medium term, given the long-term nature and intensity of the current crisis. Lastly, it will help local authorities to equip themselves with governance tools that will enable them to better anticipate and mitigate risks, as well as better plan and coordinate the management and organisation of the recovery of the affected regions. To achieve the expected result, the programme is structured around three complementary components contributing to the following three outcomes: (1) inclusive access to basic social services restored, (2) sustainable resilience of economic operators and local economy strengthened and (3) improved governance of the response to the crisis. The project contributes to climate finance, with 2 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to adaptation.
