Central African Republic - Capacity-Building Project for the Countries of the Yaoundé Declaration (PRCDY-CAR)
Detail:
The Project to Strengthen the Capacities of the Yaoundé Declaration Countries on the Central African Republic (PRCDY-RCA) aims to enhance technical support to state institutions to ensure effective coordination between governments and development actors, in order to support durable solutions for forcibly displaced Central Africans. The project is implemented in the following signatory countries of the Yaoundé Declaration: Central African Republic, Cameroon, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, and South Sudan. It contributes to the achievement of strategic goals for building prosperous, resilient, and inclusive nations that ensure sustainable growth and a better quality of life for all citizens in the beneficiary countries. The project supports the finalization and implementation of effective national action plans for durable solutions in favor of people forcibly displaced by the situation in the Central African Republic. It is also crucial for strengthening ownership and accountability among state actors. By enhancing the government’s capacity to generate reliable information on development needs in key areas of return and displacement, the project will enable a better understanding of and more appropriate responses to the specific needs of these areas. The project comprises three components: (i) Strengthening national capacities and facilitating policy dialogues; (ii) Developing economic opportunities and a resource mobilization mechanism; and (iii) Project coordination and management. It is financed through a Transition Support Facility (Pillar III) grant under the 16th cycle (TSF 16) in the amount of UA 2.36 million, along with in-kind co-financing from beneficiary countries and UNHCR valued at UA 0.27 million. The project will be implemented over a three-year period.
