Central African Republic - Project to Support the Socio-Economic Reintegration of Vulnerable Groups in the Lake Chad Basin

The Socioeconomic Reintegration Support Project for Vulnerable Groups in the Lake Chad Basin (abbreviated as PARSEBALT) is a pilot investment project that will help to mitigate the negative effects of climate change with the advancing desert and the shrinking of the area of the Lake Chad. The project comprises the following three components: (I) Institutional capacity building and beneficiaries; (II) Support for the social reintegration and economic activities of the beneficiaries; and (III) Project Management. The cost of the project is UA 13.09782 million. It is financed by an ADF loan of UA 8 million in Cameroon, an ADF grant of UA 2.5 million to the Central African Republic, an ADF grant of UA 2.5 million to Chad and a Cameroon Government contribution of UA 0.09782 million. The project will be implemented by the LCBC over a period of 4 years from 2018 to 2021. This operation concerns the Central African component of the project.
