Title:
Central African Republic - Project to support socio-economic inclusion, entrepreneurship and mobilization of the diaspora
Detail:
This operation concerns a grant of UA1,000,000 to the Central African Republic from Pillar 3 resources of the Transition Support Facility (TSF) for the implementation of the Support Project for Socio-Economic Inclusion through Entrepreneurship and Mobilisation of the Diaspora (PAISEMD). Promoting private initiative and mobilising the diaspora are two critical levers that the Bank intends to support to boost and strengthen its impact in CAR. The Bank's support for the PAISEMD therefore lies in using these two assets to support the Central African Republic's reconstruction efforts, particularly in the areas of youth and women's entrepreneurship, the socio-economic integration of young people, improving the business climate, financial inclusion and human capital in CAR. The PAISEMD will prioritise actions aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, innovation (making the most of local initiatives in the beekeeping and dairy sectors) and digitalisation (digitising procedures for setting up businesses) and mobilising the diaspora in favour of internally displaced persons, host communities and communities of origin.
