Title:
Chad – Climate Resilience Strengthening and Agricultural Productivity Improvement Project (RECAPA)
Detail:
The Rural Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Value Chain Promotion Support Project (PADIR-CVA) – Climate Action Window Additional Financing / RECAPA is a climate adaptation and agricultural resilience operation in Chad designed to complement the original PADIR-CVA project. While the base PADIR-CVA project focuses on increasing cereal productivity and production through the development of irrigated schemes and the promotion of agricultural value chains, the additional Climate Action Window (CAW) financing strengthens the project’s climate adaptation dimension. The additional financing supports the dissemination of the national climate change adaptation policy, the strengthening of adaptive capacities, the resilience of producers, and the development of climate-resilient agricultural value chains, with particular attention to women and youth. Activities include support for climate information access, agroecological practices, production and marketing of biopesticides and organic fertilizers, improved climate-resilient seeds, farmer cooperatives, post-harvest management, women’s processing groups, youth entrepreneurship, and green jobs. The total cost of the overall project is estimated at UA 11.248 million, including UA 8.5 million from the African Development Fund, UA 2.749 million from the Climate Action Window, and a Government in-kind contribution estimated at about UA 0.209 million.
