The Maritime Corridor Development and Regional Trade Facilitation Project aligns with the priorities of the Emerging Comoros Plan 2030 and the Post-COVID-19 Recovery Plan, both of which focus on infrastructure development as a catalyst for economic growth. It is in line with the development programme and guidelines on the interventions by technical and financial partners. It is also in line with the Transport Sector Policy (PST 2021-2025) for the modernisation of transport infrastructure to improve services for users, reduce costs and stimulate trade, tourism, and regional integration in the island nation. The project contributes to climate finance, with 40 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to adaptation.
