Title:
Côte d'Ivoire - Project to Improve Sanitation and the Living Environment in the Autonomous District of Abidjan (PAACA)
Detail:
The Project to Improve Sanitation and the Living Environment in the Autonomous District of Abidjan (PAACA) is consistent with the Programme for the Improvement of the Environment and Control of Floods in the District of Abidjan. It is the Bank’s contribution to the said programme. Its objective is to support flood control and improve the living environment. The project is a continuation of the Bank-funded Gourou Integrated Watershed Management Project which was closed in December 2017 and has helped to better regulate rainwater drainage in Abidjan, among other things. PAACA is an integrated operation targeting key social sectors (street food sales, health, gender, etc.) as well as sanitation. It has been designed in a coherent manner, taking into account the achievements made and lessons learned from previous and ongoing operations in the Bank’s portfolio and those financed by other donors. The project will be implemented over a five-year period. Its total cost is estimated at EUR 62.51 million. The Bank’s contribution, through an AfDB loan, stands at EUR 48.33 million, net of taxes and customs duties.
