Côte d’Ivoire – Programme for the Development of Resilient Livestock Production Systems and the Improvement of Livelihoods for Women and Youth in the Livestock Sector
Detail:
The present operation concerns a Project Preparation Facility (PPF) advance of an amount not exceeding UA 1,000,000 to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to finance consultancy services related to feasibility studies, environmental and social impact assessments, and the preparation of investment plans as a pilot phase under the Programme for the Development of Resilient Animal Production Systems and the Improvement of Livelihoods of Women and Youth in the Sector. The envisaged programme is considered a priority for the implementation of the country’s growth and employment policy and requires preliminary technical feasibility studies, environmental and social impact assessments, and the preparation of investment plans. Furthermore, the programme will provide strengthened support along the livestock value chains, including the processing and marketing of quality animal products, while supporting the structuring of actors within the targeted value chains to enhance competitiveness and resilience. The operation will be structured in several phases and will place particular emphasis on skills development for youth and women, as well as on the dissemination and adoption of innovative technologies as strategic priorities. Its implementation will contribute to sustainably increasing livestock productivity through integrated and context-appropriate approaches, while ensuring economically and ecologically sound management of pastoral and forage resources and spaces. The activities related to the studies will be implemented over a period of 15 months from the date of effectiveness of the agreement.
