Democratic Republic of Congo - Governance and Skills Development Support Project for the Agricultural Transformation Program (PAGDC-PTA)

This project is the Bank's first contribution to the operationalisation of Pillars III and IV of the Agricultural Transformation Programme (PTA).The DRC Pact for Food and Agriculture (known as the Agriculture Compact) aims to ensure rapid structural transformation of the country's agricultural sector. The Pact's subsidiary objectivesare to: (i) increase farmers’ productivity; (ii) ensure the connectivity of production areas to agro-industrial processing centres and markets; (iii) improve the quality of the human capital of farmers, women and young people; and (iv) improve the governance of agricultural value chains based on Decentralised Territorial Entities, processing centres and agricultural markets. The project contributes to climate finance, with 60 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to adaptation.
