Detail:
The proposed emergency assistance to the Republic of Djibouti supports the Government's efforts to assist institutions damaged by Cyclone Sagar. Indeed, between 19 and 20 May 2018, Djibouti was affected by severe weather caused by the tropical cyclone "Sagar". Between 20,000 and 30,000 people were affected by this event. The cyclone, one of a kind in the region, has caused major damage to housing and road and school infrastructure. The Bank's support complements and reinforces the efforts of the Government and international and local development organizations to address the situation.
