The Support Project for the Strengthening of the Digital Ecosystem (PARED) is a flagship project of the Digital Agenda that will, among other things, improve digital infrastructure with a direct impact on the quality and costs of connectivity and data storage, the dematerialisation of various administrative services and the improvement of the institutional and regulatory framework of the sector. PARED represents an important step in the modernisation of the public sector through the digitalisation of public services. At the macro level, the project stems from an urgent need for the government to achieve economic diversification and job creation in order to alleviate the problems associated with dependence on oil revenues. The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated that digital tools and platforms strengthen economic resilience by ensuring business continuity in times of crisis, but also by creating new employment opportunities within and beyond a country's borders. The project in all its components will ensure the training of executives and government officials at various levels to enable the sustainability of the project and autonomy in the management of the various infrastructures and platforms that will be set up. This technical assistance will therefore enable the EGM to launch an ambitious project to digitise the public administration and government services and create an environment conducive to the development of entrepreneurs, with particular emphasis on young people and women entrepreneurs. The total cost of the project is estimated at UA 530,000. It will be financed through a TAF-IPR grant for an amount of UA 450,000, which is about 85% of the total cost of this operation. The project activities are expected to last 24 months.
