Title:
Equatorial Guinea – Feasibility Studies Project to Support the Strengthening of Health Infrastructure and the Pharmaceutical Industry
Detail:
The proposed operation concerns technical assistance for the preparation of the Support Project for the Strengthening of Health Infrastructure and the Pharmaceutical Industry in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. The future PARIP project is aligned with the Mid-Term Review of the Country Strategy Paper (CSP) and is included in the Bank’s 2027 Indicative Operational Programme for an estimated amount of 25 million UA. This technical assistance project will strengthen the capacities of senior officials of the Ministry of Health, Social Welfare and Health Infrastructure (MINSABSIS) to better prepare and implement PARIP. The project will also support the Government in systematically prioritizing its interventions based on evidence, thereby reinforcing its investment case and enhancing its ability to mobilize additional resources. The studies to be carried out will help identify key challenges and opportunities and, based on these, determine the most appropriate development options in the health and pharmaceutical sectors. This will contribute to strengthening sector governance at a time when the economic situation of Equatorial Guinea places increased constraints on public finances. This study project follows the Health System Support Project (2008, UA 15 million).
