Gabon - GSEZ Port Project
Detail:
The present project entails design, construction, and operation of a new general cargo terminal in Owendo, GSEZ ports in Republic of Gabon with capacity of 4m tons general cargo p.a. with auxiliary storage facilities for palm oil and grains. (“the Project”) The concession was awarded to GSEZ Ports SA in 2014, with the duration of 30 years. The Project has been designed to offer integrated ports and logistics services. The GSEZ Port Project is structured around the following two main commercial components: (i) port operations and (ii) logistics. Additionally, the new port will be dredged to 14 meters from the present 10 meters allowing bigger ships to berth including Panamax vessels. The project is also an important part of Gabon’s national strategy, PSGE, to diversify its economy. It will eventually contribute to Gabon socio-economic development, answering key infrastructure needs, diversifying the country's economy and improving its competitiveness.
