Tanzania - Enabling Environments for Sustainable Regional Agriculture Extension (ENSURE)

This project is related to Enabling Sustainable Regional Extension (ENSURE). It aims to improve agricultural productivity in EAC Partner States by strengthening extension systems through innovative private sector led approaches and conducive policy environment. The project is designed to bridge the gender and youth gap in access to extension information and services through digital extension technologies (internet, podcasts, videos, social media platforms, and other media compatibles with feature phones and low literacy users). The project will focus on Regional Economic Integration with special emphasis on Agriculture and Food security. The main components of the project are: (i) the creation of a favourable environment for agricultural extension and regional policies, (ii) the deployment of innovative and plural approaches to extension, (iii) the strengthening of regional extension capacities and (iv) the management and coordination of the project. The project contributes to climate finance, with 6 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to adaptation.
