Multinational - The Mueda – Negomano Road Project Phase II
Detail:
The Mueda – Negomano Road Project Phase II comprises the upgrading of 35 km of the road to paved standard. It aims to improve transport infrastructure in Mozambique and Tanzania and the region as a whole by providing a direct road link with Tanzania in bituminous standards and promote social inclusion of the communities along the road. The project is expected to rehabilitate the Roma-Nambungale road (35 km) by paving it with bitumen to standard standards, including the construction of structures and a bicycle lane. The pavement is a dual layer (RB) surfacing. The project involves three major bridges (along the Roma-Nambungale section), two of which will have a total length of 100 m and the third a length of 40 m. It also includes a social inclusion programme to improve the livelihoods of local people and communities along the road. The total cost of the project is US$ 34.06 million (UA 24.48 million). The Civil works will be implemented over a 24-month period.
