Title:
Mauritius - Improve accountability of Procurement System Project
Detail:
The proposed operation is a grant not exceeding UA 100,000 from the Middle-Income Country Technical Assistance Fund to the Republic of Mauritius to strengthen implementation of the electronic government procurement system (e-PS). Indeed, this Technical Assistance (TA) will facilitate the strengthening of procurement in Mauritius, to promote sound and internationally recognized procurement principles with the aim of securing reliance on the country procurement system in Bank financed Projects. It will enable the Bank to deliver its knowledge management and advisory services. The assessment will be done using the Methodology for the Assessment of Procurement Systems (MAPS) Supplementary Module on e-Procurement. The Technical Assistance will also help to address public procurement challenges that have hampered the overall performance of the Bank’s portfolio. The project comprises two main components: (a) Assessment of the e-Procurement System using the MAPS E-Procurement Supplementary Module; and (b) Capacity Building training for users. It shall be implemented over a period of twelve (12) months between September 2022 and September 2023.
