Detail:
The Project to Strengthen Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation and Improve Resilience in Zinder, Mirriah and Surrounding Villages is a priority initiative in Niger aimed at addressing critical water and sanitation challenges and strengthening community resilience in the face of poverty, climate change and health risks. The African Development Bank’s Board of Directors approved a USD 165.5 million concessional loan from the African Development Fund (ADF) to finance the project, which will be implemented over a period of five years in the cities of Zinder and Mirriah and the surrounding villages, complementing the Government of Niger’s strategies and national development plans. The financing from the Bank is aligned with the Government’s priority programmes and contributes to multiple Sustainable Development Goals, including universal access to clean water and sanitation, climate resilience and improved health outcomes.
