Caribbean Transmission Development Company Receives Presidential Permit for $2.5B Project Hostos HVDC Submarine Interconnector

CTDC has received a U.S. DOE Presidential Permit for Project Hostos, a 500 MW HVDC submarine cable delivering power from a new 500 MW gas combined-cycle plant in Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico's Mayagüez Substation. The $2.5B project includes 150 km subsea HVDC line and is fully privately financed, targeting operation in 2031.
