This project is related to Co-Management of Climate Extremes for Agriculture and Fisheries Resilience (PRIASA III). It aims to promote agriculture and fisheries value chain development and the adoption of climate resilient technologies, ultimately contributing to their resilience to droughts, floods, and water depletion. There is a need to increase agriculture sector productivity to meet food security and increase imports. The Project will also enable the Bank to support the Government of STP in implementing and promoting blue economy (BE) strategic investments and regional integration initiatives to make the BE sectors more vibrant and efficient. The project adopts an integrated approach for the agricultural and fishery sectors, which will promote value chain focusing on innovative technology and practices. In parallel, the project will strengthen local capacities and governance structures to create enabling environment and scaled-up opportunities. The project will consist of the following three components: Component 1: Strengthen agriculture and fisheries value chains and market linkages to enhance resilience and socioeconomic benefits. Component 2: Reduce vulnerability and strengthen climate resilience of agricultural and fisheries value chains production and livelihoods by adopting innovative technologies and capacity building and, Component 3: Project Management to foster enabling conditions for effective and integrated climate change adaptation in the agricultural and Fisheries. The project contributes to climate finance, with 8 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to adaptation.
