The Support Project for Skills Development and Youth Entrepreneurship in Growth Sectors (PDCEJ) is based on the national priorities defined in the Emerging Senegal Plan (ESP) and the results of specific feasibility studies. The five-year project, designed and implemented in coordination with the private sector, will support the development of professional organizations in targeted sectors, with a view to improving competitiveness and productivity of firms in these sectors. It proposes a pragmatic approach based on the following three pillars: (i) the satisfaction of medium and long-term business needs in terms of technical skills, (ii) upgrading existing SMEs / SMIs; and (iii) the development of entrepreneurship or the self-employment of young people and women in growth sectors. The project includes two (2) essential components: (i) Support for skills development and enterprise competitiveness; (ii) Development of youth entrepreneurship. Its total cost, excluding taxes and customs-free, is estimated at UA 15.60 million.
