Title:
Senegal - Project to support the introduction of a new base year in Senegal
Detail:
The Project to support the introduction of a new base year in Senegal aims to fill persistent gaps in data sources and to take better account of the impact of economic change on the functioning of the productive sector and behaviour in terms of demand for goods and services. The project is fully in line with the use of the TAF-RIP, which aims to help eligible regional member countries prepare high-quality priority projects and to contribute to improving the performance of the Bank's ongoing projects. The project runs for 18 months and can be renewed to cover all the stages of change of a base year, including the preparation of the accounts for the first current year 2022 and the carrying out of the backcasting of the national accounts, at least over the period 2014-2020. The 'Rebasing' project has two main components: the collection and preliminary processing of source data on the one hand, and the compilation of accounts for the new base year on the other.
