Togo - Sokodé Solar Power Plant Project
Detail:
The project entails the design, financing, construction, operation, and transfer of a greenfield solar power plant in Sokodé, the second largest city in Togo. The project includes an installed solar PV plant of 61.85MWp (42MWac) and an 11km transmission line to be developed under a 25-year Build Own Operate Transfer (BOOT) contract with the Compagnie Energie Electrique du Togo (CEET). The Project will contribute to the government strategy to increase the share of renewable energy in the energy mix which is composed of 80% non-renewable and thermal generation. Financial close (FC) is expected to occur in Q2 2025. The Project will be the second solar PV power plant in Togo after the publicly financed Blitta solar project inaugurated in June 2021 (70MWp): it is thus the first privately financed IPP.
