National Information and Referral Service to Assist Victims and Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse and Others This Expression of Interest (EOI) has been issued by the Commonwealth of Australia as represented by and acting through the Attorney-General-s Department, inviting interested parties to submit a Response in accordance with this EOI for the provision of a national information and referral service to assist victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and others seeking help and information (the Service). The National Office for Child Safety (the National Office), which sits within the Attorney-General-s Department, was established in July 2018 in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse (the Royal Commission). Recommendation 9.5 of the Royal Commission-s Final Report recommended that the Australian Government fund a national website and helpline to assist victims and survivors of child sexual abuse to access help and information. In October 2021, the Australian Government launched the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse 2021-2030 (the National Strategy), which sets up a nationally coordinated and consistent framework to prevent and respond to child sexual abuse in all settings. The National Office led the development of the National Strategy and leads its implementation. First National Action Plan Measure 7 commits to “delivering a website and helpline to assist victims and survivors, professionals and the general public to access help and information” (Measure 7).
