Introduction Country: Bosnia and Herzegovina   Description of the Assignment:   The consultant’s main responsibilities are as follows: 1. Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing policies and regulatory frameworks concerning waste management in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBIH), and provide comparative review focusing on EU acquis and similar legislation in the neighboring countries, 2. Evaluate the efficiency of cooperation protocols with the FBiH Directorate of Inspection Affairs, specifically the branch of environmental inspection and produce relevant recommendations. 3. Draft proposals for amendments to existing laws, bylaws, and rulebooks, addressing the legal components such as roles and responsibilities, institutional coordination, management and the implementation of standards in the case of FBiH Waste Management Plan and amendments to the Law on Environment.   Period of assignment/services: October 2024 - April 2025 (approximately 60 working days)   Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.
