The AGCO is responsible for regulating the alcohol, cannabis, gaming (land-based and online) and horse racing sectors in Ontario. The Vendor will engage with AGCO to develop a comprehensive approach to backup and recovery that supports disaster recovery. This approach may include process changes, tools and software acquisition, building of secondary sites (physical and cloud) and managed services.    Scope of Work The AGCO is seeking a vendor to provide consulting and managed services to provide comprehensive disaster recovery, backup, and recovery services. The AGCO is in an IT transition period and over the past two years has moved from mostly on-premises services to a hybrid environment consistent of SaaS, on-premises and Microsoft Azure hosted services. Over the next year, AGCO intends to cloud enable all remaining on-premises workloads and be able to move these workloads between on-premises and cloud, with the majority of resources in Azure. The AGCO is in the process of creating a distinct network boundary with the Ontario Public Sector Government of Ontario Network and moving off of their Virtual Private Network solution by the end of December of 2024, adding requirements for flexibility to this request. ​ AGCO currently uses Comm-Vault backups to tape, shipped to a third-party secure facility for backup, recovery and disaster recovery. The existing solution was not supported by a robust recovery strategy and relied on recovery-in-place, replacing hardware if necessary. Built-in Azure disaster recovery services have been used but a comprehensive recovery plan has not been developed. Playbooks for common recovery and disaster recovery scenarios have not been developed and a reliance on Azure built in capabilities has occurred with high risk of data loss and failed recovery objectives should a significant event occur.
