Der forventes at blive kørt ca. 1,5 mio. ture om året af den form for kørsel, der udføres i Flextrafik. For at kunne opretholde forsyningen af disse ydelser i spidsbelastningsperioder – og samtidig sikre en rentabel kollektiv trafik – anses det for værende nødvendigt at søge aftaler omfattende i alt max. 1000 vogne med hjemområde i Region Sjælland og max. 1000 vogne med hjemområde i Region Hovedstaden til at sikre forsyningssikkerheden i den kommende kontraktperiode. Den udbudte kørsel er variabel, hvilket betyder, at Movia ikke garanterer nogen fast mængde af kørsel til den enkelte operatør, der indgås kontrakt med. Tilbudsgiver skal dog være opmærksom på, at kontrakten indeholder krav om, at tilbudsgiver på visse dage er forpligtet til at køre med op til 75% af de igangsatte vogne. Movia Flextrafik varetager kørsel for kommuner og regioner. Movia Flextrafik planlægger og udbyder kørslen, indgår aftaler med vognmænd eller taxafirmaer og varetager alt vedrørende driftsproblemer. Movia Flextrafik sørger desuden for kvalitetssikring i forhold til chaufføruddannelse og vognenes indretning.
