Selvyyden vuoksi todetaan, että jäljempänä puhuttaessa järjestelmästä tai palvelusta tarkoitetaan tätä kokonaisuutta. Hankintayksikkönä toimii Esko Systems Oy, joka hankkii hankintayksikön omistajina olevien hyvinvointialueiden käyttöön väestöterveyden tietojärjestelmän, joka integroidaan Esko-ekosysteemin järjestelmiin sekä muihin tarvittaviin järjestelmiin. Hankinnan kohteen tarkoituksena on tukea hyvinvointialueiden hoidon jatkuvuutta sekä väestöterveyden ja yksilöterveyden parempaa hoitoa. Hankinta sisältää Väestöterveys tietojärjestelmän ja siihen liittyvät palvelut: Tuki- ja ylläpitopalvelun Pilotti ja käyttöönottoprojektit Jatkokehityksen Käyttöpalvelut, SaaS (Software as a Service) malli Hankintaan liittyviä Hankintayksikön tarpeita ja tavoitteita on kuvattu liitteessä 1 Hankinnan kohde sekä liitteessä 3 Vaatimukset.
