About 40% of children miss out on school and have to work to survive while nearly 2 million children have lost one or both parents to an AIDS-related disease.Job Title: Consultancy for Generation Hope Global Campaign Review (Level 3)Locations: London-UK / Remote or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office / Homebased / Worldwide.Employment Type: Contract (5-7 weeks)Job DescriptionSave the Children International is looking for a consultant or a team of consultants to work with us on a mid-term review of our flagship Generation Hope global campaign.Save the Children is building a fresh approach to campaigning – our work to engage publics to shift political conditions for changes in policy and practise for children. Our new campaign model centres child campaigning alongside supporting partnerships and movements; strong public engagement and storytelling to generate political momentum for change. Central to that new approach, Save the Children embarked on a major five-year global campaign in 2022, calling for a world that cares for children and their planet by urgently tackling the connected crises of climate change and economic inequality.The purpose of this review is to evaluate the impact of the Generation Hope campaign so far and the extent to which we have made progress on our overall Generation Hope ambition, assess the challenges we have faced in our campaign effort, and identify recommendations to scale up impact for children through our global campaign. This review will be conducted with a group of child campaigners.Child Safeguarding:Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.Expected Deliverable:The consultant(s) will submit an inception report which will include: Review objectives, scope and key study questions Description of the methodology, including design, data collection methods, sampling strategy, data sources, and study matrix against each of the study questions Data analysis and reporting plan Child Safeguarding principles and ethical considerationsRisks or limitations of the review as well as mitigation planKey deliverables, responsibilities, and timelinesBy 6th May, Interim Report/Power point presentation, including:Overview of preliminary findingsKey tasks for the next stage of the review and any proposed refinements or changes to methodology (if applicable) By 20th May, A final Report including:Study findingsRecommendations clearly responding to the objectives of the study. By w/c 3rd JuneRequirementsExperience in conducting reviews and evaluations of global campaigns, in particular campaigns delivered in global federated organisations with a movement building campaigns approach,Experience of supporting meaningful child and youth participation and engagement in advocacy, campaigns and activism,Experience and understanding of public campaigning and engagement approaches and strategies,First class communication skills and the ability to work and communicate in a diverse setting,A strong understanding of Save the Children’s mandate and values.Methodology of Job Role:The review will follow a participatory process to include diverse views and feedback across Members, Country offices, Regional offices and SCI global teams.The consultant (s) will develop a comprehensive methodology, data collection strategy and tools needed to answer the key questions highlighted in the full ToR (to be shared at the start of the assignment).
