Following this significant initiative, the 36th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and for South Asia along with the 1st UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific which will serve as a platform to celebrate the flourishing offerings of diverse culture, tradition, and distinct flavors of the country. To be held in Mactan Cebu this June 26 to 28, 2024, the event is in adept to promote regional tourism and its branding along with its rich gastronomical flavors that could be among the lines of the country’s best delicacies. These are tourism and gastronomical endeavors that emphasize the bond between food and society and regard culinary customs as a cornerstone of local identity and cultural legacy. The three-day celebration will be a tourist activity that revolves around the visitor's travel-related experiences mostly with food and related goods and activities. Gastronomy tourism can encompass not just real, conventional, and/or inventive culinary experiences, but also related activities like visiting local producers and taking part in food festivals. The sixteen (16) DOT Regional Offices will be taking part in the regional showcase since the Philippines will be hosting these UN Tourism events. Hence, Bicol, being one of the member-region with remarkable gastronomical appreciations, will also be setting its foot of creative and indulging tourism products to be featured and served during the regional lunch along with the regional tourism and lifestyle booth showcase that will entice people to travel and discover more in the Bicol region. OBJECTIVES • To support the President’s vision of transforming the Philippines into a tourism powerhouse in Asia • To position the Philippines as a premier Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (M.I.C.E) destination • To celebrate the power of gastronomy tourism in the Philippines • To collaborate and move with international experts to exchange knowledge and best practices in tourism SCOPE OF SERVICES AND DELIVERABLES The Department of Tourism V requires the services of a DOT accredited local tour operator to provide and/or arrange the following requirements: 1.
