BACKGROUND : Wellness Tourism is a sustainable and high yield segment of the travel industry with approximately USD639 billion annual visitor expenditure globally. This industry is expanding 50 percent faster than the overall tourism industry with wellness travelers taking a whopping 586 million wellness trips each year. The Global Wellness Summit is the premier organization that brings together leaders and visionaries to positively shape the future of the $4.4 trillion global wellness economy. Its future-focused conference is held at a different global location each year and has traveled to the US, Switzerland, Turkey, Bali, India, Morocco, Mexico, Austria, Italy and Singapore. The organization’s annual Global Wellness Trends Report offers expert-based predictions on the future of wellness. This year’s theme “A Watershed Moment for Wellness”, broadly exploring how the wellness industry is at a pivotal moment for growth and disruption, while also taking a deep dive into the topic of water, from the explosion of interest in a new breed of bathing, sauna, hot springs, cold immersion, and wild swimming experiences to the water-hungry wellness and spa industries waking up to their role in creating a sustainable “blue economy.” Attended by the global experts in digital health and wellness, public policy, and preventative approaches in healthcare, to entrepreneurs and researchers inventing the future of food, travel, and longevity medicine, the speakers illustrate the breadth of the wellness sectors and brilliant minds that will gather to discuss the future of wellness. IV. OBJECTIVES : The DOT’s participation in the Global Wellness Summit aims to achieve the following: 1. To network with potential industry partners and explore marketing and promotional opportunities that will put the Philippines in the radar of the regional and global wellness community; and 2. To establish industry linkages together with the Philippine private sector in order to drum-up awareness and consciousness of the Philippine wellness industry in the regional and wellness tourism markets. V. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TOUR OPERATOR • Must be a Philippine-based PhilGEPS registered tour operator • Must be DOT-accredited, if Philippine-based company • Must be willing to provide services on send-bill arrangement • Airline ticket must be refundable and rebookable and should be inclusive of VAT and other government taxes • Bidders must submit their quotation with cost breakdown to differentiate the amount of service fee and amount to be earmarked for the payment to the third parties or other proprietors. Otherwise tax withheld will be credited for the total contract prize. VI. SCOPE OF WORK A.
