This project is funded with the Highway Safety Improvement Program funds.The traffic signal will always remain green for Parks Highway traffic coming from Ester heading to Fairbanks. The opposite traffic (from Fairbanks toward Ester) will need to stop on red when a left green arrow is active for either left turn.Similarly to the intersection on the Mitchell Expressway, active advanced warning flasher signal (“Prepare to Stop”) is planned to indicate when the approaching traffic will need to stop. Furthermore, there is an existing separated bike pedestrian path that crosses the Sheep Creek Extension.
