The National Institutes of Health (NIH) plans to issue a firm fixed-price purchase order to Qiagen LLC located in Germantown Maryland 20874-1415, on a sole source basis. The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase DNA Isolation Kits for the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Lab. The HLA Laboratory offers both high and low-resolution HLA typing for patients at the NIH Clinical Center, often serving critically ill individuals. These testing kits have been rigorously tested by the HLA Lab to ensure the highest quality DNA samples for downstream testing. This contract will facilitate the shipment of testing kits on an as-needed basis throughout the year, preventing any risk of running out. The quantity of kits procured is anticipated to meet the lab's needs for one year, based on current usage rates.
